My take on the ancient Egyptian demon. She dwelt in the underworld where men were judged before the gods. A man's heart would be weighed against purity and justice; if the heart was proven to be wicked or greedy, Ammit would consume it causing the person to be a restless spirit forever. Ammit was often depicted with the head of a crocodile, torso of a lion or leopard, and the hind end of a hippopotamus. Except for the blue in the headdress, this fierce creature is based entirely on the color yellow.
